Our tour starts with an early pick from your hotel lobby, bus terminal or airport in Peurto Maldonado in our modern private vehicles. We then register and put our luggage in storage. Only pack items that are essential for the tour.
*** We recommend that you carry a 30L backpack for all your necessities and change of clothing.
Next, is a short walk to Peurto Capitania to board our motorized boat for a cruise down the Madre de Dios River. Along the way be on the lookout for Ronscos, a giant cavy rodent native to South America, related to the famous Guinea Pig. It’s also possible to sight Caimans(crocodiles), turtles, and different species of birds such as the Heron and Cormorants.
After reaching our checkpoint at the Sandoval reserve, head over to our lodge for a scrumptious lunch and spend some time relaxing and connecting with your surroundings. Later, we start our 2-hour jungle walk through the Amazon Forest. Witness 500-year-old trees like the great Kapok tree and a variety of other flora and fauna. Take a small canoe boat to feast our eyes on giant otters, the black caiman and many different species of birds and monkeys.
Finally, we head over to our lodge to tuck into our delectable dinner under the stars before settling in for the night.
Today, we wake up very early go to the surroundings of the Sandoval Lake where huge number of various palm trees grow in its water creating an area of marsh.
This place is called Collpa de Palmeras or “macaw palm tree” and it attracts various macaw species and other parrots to eat sawdust of its palms as it contains sodium, calcium, potassium and other minerals that help them to digest.
Then, we go back to the lodge for our gourmet buffet breakfast. Later, a short hike to the Sandoval Lake. The largest lake in the Tambopata National Reserve. This will treat explorers to a diverse group of fauna and flora native and unique to this part of the Amazon jungle.
Afterwards, we board a canoe and sail over the Sandoval Lake followed by a leisurely walk to the checkpoint. Finally, we board our motorboat towards Puerto Maldonado to end our amazing tour.
After we pick up our luggage, we drop you off at the airport, bus terminal, or hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

If you would like to avoid the high credit card fees in Peru, you may pay in cash at our office (US dollars or Peruvian soles) here in Cusco. There are many ATMS within the historical center to withdraw money. You can also pay by VISA or PAYPAL online but you will have to pay a 5.5% service fee, charged by VISA and PAYPAL. To pay your balance through PAYPAL, you need to log into your PAYPAL account and use our email address samcorporations@gmail.com to complete your payment
