Christmas season is a time for family, love and joy all around the world. It’s a time when we all try to be selfless, spreading the spirit of giving and oneness. In Peru a traditional Christmas entails indulging in paneton (a Peruvian fruit cake) and hot chocolate. We have to consider that some communities live in the middle of the Andes mountains with no access to transportation, modern amenities and jobs. To spread Christmas cheer to these disadvantaged isolated communities, we host annual chocolatadas. We bring Christmas gifts, food parcels, serve paneton and hot chocolate for a full day of festivities.
