For the professionals looking for the famous big waves, then look no further than La Herradura.

Nights

For some of the best nightlife in the city head to Pizza street in Miraflores, La Plaza in Barranco and the Historical center have the best nightlife. Patron start to head out around 11pm and dont finish until the early hours of the morning. The next day there is no better hangover cure in the world than the fresh ceviche made in many Cerveceria’s in Lima. The fish is always fresh and you get to choose your own level of spice.

Food

The food in Lima is to die for, they have 2 of the top 10 best restaurants in the world and is home to the famous chef: Gaston Acurio. Join a culinary tour, to sample the best dishes this nation has to offer. Don’t forget to stop over at the oldest China Town of the Americas and try some Chifa, a mix of Peruvian and Chinese cooking, located in the center of Lima.

Shopping

Larcomar Mall in Miraflores is worth a shopping trip, located outdoors on the cliff in front of the ocean. For the stunning views it is worth a trip. Another great shopping alternative is the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco with its eye-catching colorful houses and murals.

Architecture

Lima has a rich history that deserves to be explored. It once was the Spanish capital in South America. It is clearly evident in colonial-style Plaza de Armas with its beautiful buildings and churches. Find a number of Baroque style buildings flanking the historical center. Featured on the plaza is Palicio de Goborio that serves as the current residence of the president of Peru with Moroccan style balconies. It’s also known as the Presidential Palace.

You must visit

Other great buildings include, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop´s Palace and the Municipal Palace. For pre-Columbian artifacts, make your way to the massive National Museum of Lima and the Museo Larco which is more known for its erotic collection of art pieces.

Paragliding

Finally, delve into the two activities that define the tourism of Lima. Firstly, paraglide over the Pacific coastline, mostly in Miraflores. It’s a great popular activity offered throughout the city for just over 300 soles.

Parque Los Aguas

Lastly and certainly not least is the spectacular EL Circuito Magico Del Agua (directly translates to: The magic circuit of water). Located in Parque de La Reserva, it’s an aptly named spectacle is a water show. There are 13 fountains that illuminate with rainbow lights after sun set. This showpiece is a spectacular fountain show with lasers that follow a choreographed water routine. The colorful streaming water moves in unison with music, spouting different colors of the rainbow and takes you on a virtual journey of Peruvian culture.
